Therapeutic Massage in Sarasota, Built Around You
You carry your week in your body, desk hours in your neck and shoulders, stress across your back. By the time you decide it’s time for a massage, you’re hoping someone can find the places that need attention most.
Many massage sessions follow the same routine no matter who is on the table. They can feel wonderful for a little while, but they don’t always address what brought you in.
That’s where my approach is different.
As we talk through your health history, your concerns, and how your body has been feeling, I’m already beginning to build your session. I’m listening for patterns, connecting the pieces, and deciding which techniques will best support your body that day.
Therapeutic massage with me isn’t a routine, it’s a fully personalized session.
Some areas may need focused attention. Others may simply need your nervous system to slow down. Every session is thoughtfully tailored to what your body is asking for in that moment.
Therapeutic Massage is one of the many services you’ll find within my Bodywork & Massage Therapy offerings, and for many clients, it’s the perfect place to begin. If you’re not sure which service is right for you, don’t worry, we’ll figure that out together.
How I actually work a therapeutic session
One of the first questions people ask is, “How deep do you go?”
It’s a fair question, but to me, pressure isn’t the most important part of the session.
Listening to your body is.
Before you’re ever on the table, we’ll talk about what’s been going on. Where do you feel tight? How have you been sleeping? What does your workday ask of your body? Did something flare up this week, or has it been building over time?
That conversation is where your session begins to take shape.
From there, I match the work to what your body is telling me. Some days that means slow, broad, calming techniques because your nervous system needs help settling down. Other days it means more focused, deeper work to address an area that’s been asking for attention.
The right approach isn’t determined by pressure alone, it’s determined by what your body needs that day.
I’m dual-licensed in Florida as both a massage therapist and facial specialist, with advanced training in CranioSacral Therapy, Myofascial Release, Spinal Flow Technique, and Brazilian Lymphatic Massage, a clinical foundation that shapes how I assess the body and personalize every session.
Clinical knowledge.
A personalized experience.
Genuine compassion.
That’s what I hope you feel every time you walk through my door.
Above all, my promise is simple: you’ll feel safe, respected, and genuinely cared for. No rushing, no pressure, and no judgment, just thoughtful care that’s built around you.
What therapeutic massage can do for you
When muscles stay tight for too long, they can begin to affect the way your body moves. You might notice stiffness, reduced range of motion, or discomfort that seems to show up somewhere completely different from where the tension actually started.
Therapeutic massage helps encourage healthy circulation, improve tissue mobility, and calm an overworked nervous system. When your body feels supported and safe, it’s often able to let go of the tension it’s been holding onto.
You don’t need to be injured to benefit, sometimes you simply want to feel more comfortable in your body again.
Therapeutic massage may help:
Ease everyday tension in the neck, shoulders, and back
Encourage healthy circulation
Improve mobility and range of motion
Support your body’s natural recovery after everyday physical stress
Calm the nervous system and promote relaxation
Help you feel more comfortable, balanced, and connected to your body
The American Massage Therapy Association recognizes massage therapy as a valuable way to help reduce muscle tension, encourage relaxation, and support overall well-being.
For me, the greatest benefit comes from making sure the session is built around your body. Every person carries tension differently, which is why every session is thoughtfully tailored to meet you where you are.
A signature that helps you breathe again
So many of us spend our days folded forward, at a desk, looking down at a phone, driving.
Over time, the front of the body tightens, the shoulders begin to round forward, and taking a deep, comfortable breath can become harder than it should be.
One technique many of my clients look forward to is my signature chest-opening stretch. Using gentle work through the sternum and pectoral muscles, I help encourage the front of the body to soften and open again.
One of the first things people notice is that they can take a deeper breath.
Many tell me they feel taller, lighter, and more open when they get off the table.
I’m looking at how your whole body is moving, breathing, and holding tension, then creating space for it to relax.
Sometimes the body doesn’t need to be forced, it simply needs a little room to open up.
What a session with me looks like
Before your first visit, you’ll complete a health intake form. Then we’ll spend a few minutes talking about what brought you in, how your body has been feeling, and what you’re hoping to accomplish.
I often begin by warming the larger muscle groups before focusing on the areas that need more specific attention. Depending on what your body is asking for, I may incorporate techniques from myofascial release, CranioSacral Therapy, stretching, or other modalities to help you get the greatest benefit from your session.
Throughout the treatment, I’ll check in with you about pressure and comfort. My goal isn’t simply to work deeper, it’s to work smarter. The most effective session is one that’s tailored to your body, not one that’s unnecessarily intense.
Whenever appropriate, I love to finish with my signature chest-opening stretch. It’s a gentle technique that works through the sternum and pectoral muscles, helping release the rounded posture so many of us develop from desks, driving, and everyday life. Clients often tell me they leave standing a little taller and breathing a little deeper.
The little details, room temperature, the table warmer, the music, the face cradle, aren’t extras; they’re part of creating an environment where your body can truly relax.
My studio, located near the Rosemary District in downtown Sarasota, is intentionally quiet and unhurried. I leave breathing room between appointments because I believe healing shouldn’t feel rushed, and neither should you.
When another approach might serve you better
Therapeutic Massage is a wonderful place to start for many people. It’s ideal for relieving everyday tension, improving mobility, and helping your body feel more comfortable again.
But one of the advantages of working with a practitioner who’s trained in multiple modalities is that I don’t have to fit every concern into the same treatment.
If your body is recovering from the demands of running, golf, tennis, pickleball, or another active lifestyle Sports Massage may be the better choice because it’s designed around the movement patterns your body experiences.
If you’re feeling like your nervous system just won’t slow down, or you’re dealing with headaches, jaw tension, or stress that seems to live throughout your whole body CranioSacral Therapy may be a more supportive place to begin.
If you’re recovering from surgery or feeling swollen, heavy, or puffy Manual Lymphatic Drainage or Brazilian Lymphatic Massage may be the approach your body needs.
Tell me what’s been going on, and I’ll help you choose the service that’s the best fit for your body.

Tracy Bisaha, Licensed Massage Therapist (MA90791) and Licensed Facial Specialist (FB9776285) I’m the founder and sole practitioner behind Bodywork Elevated in downtown Sarasota.
My journey into this work began in healthcare, first as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later as a phlebotomist in both hospital and laboratory settings. Those experiences taught me to look beyond the symptoms and truly pay attention to the person in front of me. They also taught me the importance of compassion, trust, and helping people feel safe during vulnerable moments. That clinical foundation still shapes how I read a body today.
I’m dual-licensed in Florida as both a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Licensed Facial Specialist. My advanced training includes CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute Myofascial Release I through John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Seminars, Spinal Flow Technique with Dr. Carli Axford, Brazilian Lymphatic Massage through the Josie Rushing Method®, and certification in the Emotion Code®, Body Code™, and Belief Code® developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson.
One of the greatest gifts I can give the people who trust me with their care is my commitment to keep learning. Every class I take and every technique I study gives me another way to better support the unique person on my table. I truly believe learning is a lifelong journey, and I never want to stop growing in a profession I love.
My years in luxury hospitality, including The Ritz-Carlton, taught me something just as valuable as my clinical training: how you feel while you’re receiving care matters just as much as the care itself.
A warm welcome, a peaceful environment, never feeling rushed, those aren’t extras to me; they’re part of the treatment.
Today, those two worlds come together in everything I do. My healthcare background helps me understand the body. My years in luxury hospitality remind me that every detail of the experience matters. Together, they’ve shaped the philosophy behind Bodywork Elevated.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is therapeutic massage?
Therapeutic massage is a personalized, whole-body treatment designed to relieve tension, improve mobility, and support your body’s natural recovery. Rather than following the same routine for every client, I build each session around what your body needs that day.
What is the difference between therapeutic massage and deep tissue?
Deep tissue describes the amount of pressure being used. Therapeutic massage is about choosing the right approach for your body.
Some sessions call for deeper, more focused work. Others benefit from slower, gentler techniques that allow the nervous system to relax first. Often, the most effective session includes a combination of both.
How often should I get a therapeutic massage?
That depends. If you’re managing ongoing tension from work, stress, or an active lifestyle, many clients find that scheduling every two to four weeks helps them maintain the progress they’re making. Others simply come in whenever they feel it’s time for a reset.
Together, we’ll find a schedule that works for your body, your goals, and your lifestyle.
Does therapeutic massage have to hurt to work?
Not at all.
The goal isn’t to create pain, it’s to create change.
Sometimes deeper pressure is exactly what’s needed. Other times, your nervous system responds better to slower, lighter techniques before deeper work can be effective.
Listening to your body is always more important than using the deepest pressure possible.
What should I do before a massage appointment?
Arrive well hydrated, avoid eating a heavy meal right before your appointment, and wear comfortable clothing.
It also helps to spend a moment thinking about how your body has been feeling. Even an old injury can continue to influence the way you move today, so sharing those details helps me build a session that’s truly personalized to you.
Do you work with my doctor or physical therapist?
Yes. If you’re under the care of a physician, surgeon, physical therapist, chiropractor, counselor, or another healthcare provider, I encourage you to continue following their recommendations. My work is designed to complement the care you’re already receiving, not replace it.
The more I understand about your health history and current care plan, the better I can tailor your session to support your overall well-being.
