Spinal Flow Technique in Sarasota
A lot of us live with our nervous system stuck in the on position. The stress of a hard season, an old injury, a body that braces before it rests. You can chase the symptoms for a long time and still feel like something underneath never quite lets go. The Spinal Flow Technique works at that underneath layer. It is gentle, hands-on work along the spine and nervous system that helps your body shift out of bracing and back toward its own rhythm, so it can do what it is designed to do on its own.
Honestly, this is not about forcing anything. What is different about how I work is that I take whatever your body brings, and as we talk through your intake, that is when I start building your session. Spinal Flow is one of the gentler tools I reach for, and it sits between my Bodywork & Massage Therapy hub and my Energy Work & Healing hub, because it touches both the body and the way the body holds stress.
What the Spinal Flow Technique is
The Spinal Flow Technique is a gentle, non-invasive approach that uses light contact at specific points along the spine. There is no forceful adjusting and no cracking. The idea is to work with your nervous system rather than override it, helping the body release stored tension and find a more settled, balanced state. Many people describe the sessions as deeply relaxing, and some notice that relief seems to hold a little longer than they expected.
I want to be straightforward about how to think about this. Spinal Flow is a complementary wellness practice, not a medical treatment, and it is meant to support your overall well-being alongside, not instead of, the care of your doctor or other providers. If you are managing a health condition, keep your medical team in the loop and let me coordinate with your care plan. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health is a good neutral place to read about how complementary, mind-body approaches fit into overall wellness.
How I work a Spinal Flow session
Before you are ever on the table, we talk. What you have been carrying, where you feel stuck, how your stress tends to show up, what is going on in your life right now. That conversation is where your session gets shaped. From there, the work itself is light and unhurried. I make gentle contact at points along the spine and simply give your nervous system the space and the cues to do its own releasing. Your job is to rest and let it happen.
I came to this work through healthcare, as a CNA and then years as a phlebotomist in a hospital and a lab, and that clinical foundation shapes how carefully I read a body. I am dual-licensed in Florida as a massage therapist and a facial specialist, with advanced training in Craniosacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute, and I am a certified Spinal Flow practitioner. I also trained in luxury hospitality at the Ritz-Carlton, so the experience is as cared-for as the work. Luxury and clinical, in the same room. From the moment you walk in, I want you to feel safe and genuinely well cared for.
What people come to Spinal Flow for
People reach for this gentle approach for a lot of reasons, and the experience is different for everyone. Many clients tell me they come in hoping to:
Calm a nervous system that has been running hot, and finally drop into deep rest
Ease everyday tension that settles in the neck, shoulders, back, and joints
Support the body’s own recovery during stressful or demanding stretches of life
Feel more connected, more balanced, and a little more like themselves
These are common reasons people seek out this kind of work, and individual results vary. Spinal Flow is not a cure for any condition, and I never promise a specific outcome. What I can promise is gentle, attentive care and a session built around you.
The layers we tend to hold
A lot of what we carry is not only physical. The Spinal Flow approach looks at tension as something that can build up across a few layers of life: physical strain, the leftovers of stress, and the emotional weight we hold without realizing it. Working gently with the nervous system can help the body start to let some of that go. This is also why Spinal Flow pairs naturally with the rest of how I work. If what surfaces feels more emotional than physical, gentle energy work like The Emotion Code can sit alongside it. And if your nervous system responds well to light touch, craniosacral therapy is a close cousin worth exploring. Tell me what you are feeling and I will help you find the right starting point.
Who tends to choose this gentle approach
Because Spinal Flow is so gentle and non-forceful, it appeals to people who want a soft, low-impact option. That often includes folks navigating long stretches of stress, those who simply prefer light-touch work over deep pressure, and people looking for a way to help their body reset. If you are pregnant, recovering from an injury, managing a health condition, or considering this for a child, please check with your physician first and let me know, so we can make sure it is appropriate for you and coordinate with your care. I would always rather make sure this is the right fit than assume it is.
Ready when you are
If a gentle reset sounds like what your body has been asking for, the best next step is a quick conversation. Contact me, or book a session, and we will talk through where you are and what you are hoping for. Either way, you will be well taken care of.

“Tracy was amazing. She took the time to listen to me and tailor my services specifically for me. She had great questions and follow-up questions to make sure I was completely comfortable and satisfied. I’ve had the craniosacral massage, spinal flow technique and lymphatic massage. She has a very relaxing setup and I wish I lived closer to see her more often.”

Tracy Bisaha, Licensed Massage Therapist (MA90791) and Licensed Facial Specialist (FB9776285) I’m the founder and sole practitioner behind Bodywork Elevated in downtown Sarasota.
My journey into this work began in healthcare, first as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later as a phlebotomist in both hospital and laboratory settings. Those experiences taught me to look beyond the symptoms and truly pay attention to the person in front of me. They also taught me the importance of compassion, trust, and helping people feel safe during vulnerable moments. That clinical foundation still shapes how I read a body today.
I’m dual-licensed in Florida as both a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Licensed Facial Specialist. My advanced training includes CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute Myofascial Release I through John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Seminars, Spinal Flow Technique with Dr. Carli Axford, Brazilian Lymphatic Massage through the Josie Rushing Method®, and certification in the Emotion Code®, Body Code™, and Belief Code® developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson.
One of the greatest gifts I can give the people who trust me with their care is my commitment to keep learning. Every class I take and every technique I study gives me another way to better support the unique person on my table. I truly believe learning is a lifelong journey, and I never want to stop growing in a profession I love.
My years in luxury hospitality, including The Ritz-Carlton, taught me something just as valuable as my clinical training: how you feel while you’re receiving care matters just as much as the care itself.
A warm welcome.
A peaceful environment.
Never feeling rushed.
Knowing someone is fully present with you.
Those aren’t extras to me, they’re part of the treatment.
Today, those two worlds come together in everything I do. My healthcare background helps me understand the body. My years in luxury hospitality remind me that every detail of the experience matters. Together, they’ve shaped the philosophy behind Bodywork Elevated.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Spinal Flow Technique?
The Spinal Flow Technique is a gentle, hands-on wellness practice that uses light contact at points along the spine to help the body release stored tension and settle the nervous system. It is non-forceful, with no cracking or hard adjusting, and it is meant to support overall well-being alongside your regular medical care.
Is the Spinal Flow Technique the same as chiropractic?
No. Chiropractic care involves manual adjustments and is its own licensed medical field, while Spinal Flow is a gentle, light-touch wellness approach with no forceful manipulation. They are different things, and Spinal Flow is meant to complement, not replace, care from your physician or chiropractor.
Does the Spinal Flow Technique hurt?
No. The work is light and gentle by design, and most people find it deeply relaxing rather than uncomfortable. There is no deep pressure or cracking involved, so you can simply rest while your body does the releasing.
What does a Spinal Flow session feel like?
Most people describe it as calming and restful, often slipping into a relaxed, almost meditative state. We start with a conversation about what you are carrying, then the hands-on work is slow and gentle, and many clients say they feel lighter and more settled afterward, though everyone’s experience is a little different.
Is the Spinal Flow Technique safe during pregnancy or for children?
Because everyone’s situation is different, please check with your physician first if you are pregnant or considering this for a child, and let me know, so we can confirm it is appropriate and coordinate with your care. I would always rather make sure it is the right fit than assume.
How many Spinal Flow sessions will I need?
There is no set number, because it depends on what your body is working through and how it responds. We will talk about it together, and I will never pressure you into a package; my goal is to help you find what genuinely serves you.
