The Emotion Code in Sarasota
You know the feeling. Something happened a long time ago, you have processed it, you have moved on, and yet your body seems not to have gotten the memo. A reaction that is bigger than the moment calls for. A heaviness you cannot explain. A pattern in relationships or stress that keeps showing up no matter how much you understand it.
The Emotion Code is a gentle, complementary method intended to work with exactly that. Before I say more, the honest part: this is energy work, not medical or mental-health treatment, and it is meant to sit alongside the care you already trust, not replace it. With that said, it is one of the most requested things I offer, and many clients tell me it helps them feel lighter. The Emotion Code is one of the three certified Code modalities in my Energy Work & Healing hub.
What the Emotion Code is
The Emotion Code was developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson and is taught through [Discover Healing], where I earned my certification. The premise is one most of us recognize intuitively. Strong emotions are not only thoughts. They are felt in the body. The method works from the idea that sometimes the body holds onto the energy of those emotions, what practitioners call trapped emotions, and that gently releasing them may help you feel more balanced.
I am careful with the language here on purpose. I am not making a medical claim about your physiology. I am describing the framework the method uses, and what many clients report feeling afterward, which is usually some version of lighter, calmer, or freer.
How a session actually works
This is gentle, and there is nothing you need to brace for. You stay fully clothed, and you can sit or lie down, whichever feels better.
We start the way I start everything: we talk. I want to understand what brought you in, what feels stuck, and what you are hoping for. From there, I use a simple muscle-testing approach, a way of checking in with your body as a kind of yes-or-no feedback, to help identify what may be ready to be released. When something surfaces, the release itself is gentle and quick, often just a light pass along the body’s energy pathways. No reliving, no digging, no forcing you to retell a painful story in detail.
Many people feel a shift within a session or two. Others prefer to come back a few times. There is no quota and no pressure. From the moment you walk in, my whole aim is for you to feel safe and genuinely well cared for, and that matters even more when we are working with emotional material.
What many clients report
I will always tell you what tends to happen, not what is guaranteed to happen, because everyone is different. Clients commonly describe:
Feeling lighter, like something they were carrying eased up
More emotional steadiness in situations that used to flare
A clearer head and a calmer baseline
A softer response in relationships where they used to feel reactive
Some clients also notice physical tension easing as the emotional layer settles, which is part of why this fits so naturally alongside hands-on work. If your stress lives in your nervous system as much as your emotions Craniosacral Therapy can be a gentle companion to this work.
Where the Emotion Code leads next
The Emotion Code is usually where people start, because it is approachable and focused. If you find it helpful and want to go broader The Body Code widens the lens beyond emotions to six areas of balance, looking at the bigger picture of what might be keeping your body from finding equilibrium. And if you keep bumping into the same limiting story about yourself, like “I am not enough” or “it is never safe to rest,” The Belief Code works specifically with those deeper subconscious beliefs.
You do not need to map this out in advance. Start with the Emotion Code, see how it feels, and we will follow what is actually helping you.
Keeping this safe and honest
A few things I always hold to with this work.
The Emotion Code is complementary and supportive. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment, or a cure for any physical, emotional, or mental-health condition. If you are working with a doctor or a therapist, please keep doing that. Energy work is intended to support that care. If something surfaces in a session that really belongs with a licensed mental-health professional, I will gently tell you and help you take that step.
And I will never suggest that someone else got your care wrong. I would rather put all of our attention on what we can do to help you feel better from here.
Ready when you are
If you have been feeling stuck in a way you cannot quite name, the Emotion Code is a gentle place to start. Book a session, or Contact me first and tell me what is going on, and I will help you decide whether this is the right starting point. Either way, you will be well taken care of.

“Tracy was amazing. She took the time to listen to me and tailor my services specifically for me. She had great questions and follow-up questions to make sure I was completely comfortable and satisfied. I’ve had the craniosacral massage, spinal flow technique and lymphatic massage. She has a very relaxing setup and I wish I lived closer to see her more often.”

Tracy Bisaha, Licensed Massage Therapist (MA90791) and Licensed Facial Specialist (FB9776285) I’m the founder and sole practitioner behind Bodywork Elevated in downtown Sarasota.
My journey into this work began in healthcare, first as a Certified Nursing Assistant and later as a phlebotomist in both hospital and laboratory settings. Those experiences taught me to look beyond the symptoms and truly pay attention to the person in front of me. They also taught me the importance of compassion, trust, and helping people feel safe during vulnerable moments. That clinical foundation still shapes how I read a body today.
I’m dual-licensed in Florida as both a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Licensed Facial Specialist. My advanced training includes CranioSacral Therapy through the Upledger Institute Myofascial Release I through John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Seminars, Spinal Flow Technique with Dr. Carli Axford, Brazilian Lymphatic Massage through the Josie Rushing Method®, and certification in the Emotion Code®, Body Code™, and Belief Code® developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson.
One of the greatest gifts I can give the people who trust me with their care is my commitment to keep learning. Every class I take and every technique I study gives me another way to better support the unique person on my table. I truly believe learning is a lifelong journey, and I never want to stop growing in a profession I love.
My years in luxury hospitality, including The Ritz-Carlton, taught me something just as valuable as my clinical training: how you feel while you’re receiving care matters just as much as the care itself.
A warm welcome.
A peaceful environment.
Never feeling rushed.
Knowing someone is fully present with you.
Those aren’t extras to me, they’re part of the treatment.
Today, those two worlds come together in everything I do. My healthcare background helps me understand the body. My years in luxury hospitality remind me that every detail of the experience matters. Together, they’ve shaped the philosophy behind Bodywork Elevated.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Emotion Code?
The Emotion Code is a gentle energy method, developed by Dr. Bradley Nelson, that is intended to help identify and release what practitioners call trapped emotions. It is a complementary practice for your well-being, not medical or mental-health treatment.
Does the Emotion Code really work?
Many clients report feeling lighter, calmer, or more emotionally steady after a session, though experiences vary and I never promise a specific result. I offer it as a supportive practice, not a cure for any condition.
What happens in an Emotion Code session?
You stay fully clothed and comfortable, we talk about what feels stuck, and I use a gentle muscle-testing approach to help identify what may be ready to release. The releases themselves are quick and gentle, with no need to relive anything painful.
How many Emotion Code sessions do I need?
There is no set number. Some people feel a shift in a session or two, others like to return a few times, and I will never pressure you to keep booking. We follow what is actually helping you.
Is the Emotion Code safe?
Yes, it is gentle and non-invasive, and most people find it deeply relaxing. If you have a medical or mental-health concern, please keep working with your licensed providers, because this work is meant to support that care, not replace it.
Can the Emotion Code replace therapy?
No. The Emotion Code is complementary and supportive only, and it is not a substitute for professional mental-health or medical care. If you are seeing a therapist or doctor, please continue, and I am glad to support that work alongside them.
